I used a screenshot from monterbox to reference look for the exterior environment.
I had a hard time drawing/painting from the reference so i just cut and pasted images from the internet to construct a look for the environment. i slightly warped features to make them look a bit more appealing but the standard look of the house didn't look too bad either. things like the windows i think might be over done a bit.
A quick mock up of how i picture the hallway.
