Texturing_
Today i managed to finish of the primitive textures for the room t oget a feel for how colours and designs match up and such so lights are ready to be place in there. i will sharpen up the look of the textures to look nicer for the render tomorrow.

Texturing
Today i worked predominantly on texturing the hallway scene as i plan to have that one rendered out for submission. some of the objects however need their uv's to be fiddled for me to be able to work with but it is not a major issue. i think that getting the back wall of the room to look the same in the hallway scene as it does in scene one might be a little bit challenging though. otherwise things appear to be progressing smoothly.

On tuesday i worked on shot 22 for most of the day, getting the mother to walk proved difficult and it came to limiting her movements and they were quite bombastic. simplifying her proved to be the solution and it links nicely with the next scene and keeps up the pacing.

Scene 06
Today we did a bit of housekeeping on some of the shots and getting them all to link up in a believable and appealing way. the storytelling is really shining with all the ideas that the team are coming up with together. after seeing some test renders im even more excited to see our film finished.

I tried working on some more of scene 06 and have arrived to the point where i need to finalise the exact actions for the reveal when tubbs jumps into fram in his mother costume.

Continuity
After adding parts Sean has edited the story appears a lot more cohesive and the added continuity has done wonders. i am wroking on touching up some of tubbs acting in other scenes and progress is going really well.

Tubbs hair
i added some animation to tubbs hair in the shot where he gets a pat from his mother i also continued to add more shots to the edit and the simulations are looking really good.

Crash V2
although i had crashes with most of the other scenes i was able to find something to work on for the day [Shot 21]. i managed to try fix up scene 3 shot 2 in bounding box mode but it doesnt want to run with the textures on which is quite disappointing i hope this issue is resolved with all the other scenes not loading on our computers.

Acting Shot 10
Despite the several crashes i managed to find a scene that loaded up and needed some work.Today i managed to get down the idea i had for shot 10, if it is clear enough i think that it just needs some polish to finish that shot off. squashing and stretching all of his secondary actions really bring him to life and the more subtle things going on that show character on the model the more believable he becomes.

Crash
there were a couple of scenes i wanted to work on but maya crashed a lot and i wasnt able to do anything on those shots. i was able to fix camera movements on the first shot and start teexturing on the hallway.

Shot 08
i had a mard time working out what direction i wanted to take in terms of tubbs actin gin this scene and i tried a few more ideas that werent quite right. i want to utilise his facial controls as they are very expressive and really well setup to show some really good acting.
im thinking of going a lot closer with the camera than originally planned but i think disrupting the flow of the series of full body shots and long/mid shots. close ups are more intimate and highlight expression which is what this scene is mainly about.

SC05_Sh10 revisit
to day i worked on the first shot i attempted to animate which was shot 10, after learning a bunch through working on other shots i feel my learning has come full circle working on my first attempted scene again. It is difficult trying to break cliche and do some convincing acting at the same time while keeping Tubbs character consistent but i t is a fun challenge non the less.

Today i composited some of the teams shots theyve been workingon into the edit. we also got some feedback on what we had and they were pretty happy with the progress we had made. they noted some character issues with how he pats himself down as it might seem too adult of him to do. some other issues are some acting decisions are too cliche which i agree could be revised. some acting could be simpler, and same with shots aswell.

Locomotion
Based upon one of the lectures we got on story yesterday i rethought several parts of the story particularly the end which i thought could be strengthened by heading in a different direction. I quickly boarded up my idea to see how it might look.
I also worked on the acting in Tubbs shots i had which i am really proud of.
